Here’s How it Works

Select a day or several days of special personal significance to you.

Choose a birthday, an anniversary, any day you wish to commemorate. If you don’t want to choose a day, you can let us choose one for you.

Send us a payment of $ 100.00 for each day you wish to adopt. Donors can choose a day to adopt for all 12 months for a donation of $1200.

Fill in the name of the person you wish to honor or remember.

You can choose to have your tribute displayed: on our website, as a special post on our social media pages, in our newsletter, and/or on the special Harbor House Adopt-A-Day Board displayed at the Harbor House of Rochester. You may choose the standard tribute: [Donor name] adopts [date] in honor/in celebration/in memory of [honoree name], or you may provide a customized tribute text message of up to 100 words. You may also include a photo of your honoree, or other relevant image, quote, poem or message for your tribute. If you would like someone to receive an acknowledgment of your tribute, be sure to fill in the name and address where the notice should be sent. Tell us who is adopting the day.

If you wish to remain anonymous, we will list your days on the calendar as sponsored by “Anonymous Angel.”

You will receive confirmation that we have received your “adoption papers”.

We prefer to send these via e-mail to help cut down on costs. If you have an e-mail address, please provide it.

You will receive a letter from the Harbor House on or around your adopted day.
