Harbor House is grateful for our partnership with Shawn’s Heroes for Life (SHFL) 

Since 2022, Harbor House has partnered with Shawn’s Heroes for Life to lower the cost for Veterans and Veterans families who stay with us.  Through their support, these families are charged only $10 per night’s stay.  Additionally, some funds are available to assist organ transplant families who are struggling.   

Shawn McMullen was a 19 Delta Cavalry Scout in the U.S. Army who died in 2015.  Shawn was wearing his organ donor bracelet when he died.  His donation gave the gift of life to five individuals, and provided two others the opportunity to see again, following corneal transplants.  Rochester meteorologist Scott Hetsko received Shawn’s heart. 

Shawn’s Heroes for Life (SHFL) was created in 2017 to remember Shawn and to help two causes Shawn cared about: helping Veterans and supporting organ donations.  We honor Shawn and appreciate his and his family’s advocacy for organ donors and Veterans.
