If ever there was a time when the world needed more heart and healing, it would be now! Well, I guess we could say that about any time, but March 29, 2026 is when we’re really ramping up our cause to lift the spirit in a unique celebration of sound, healing and resilience that we call ‘Music is Our Light’! And this luminous afternoon will bring together a one-of-a-kind portmanteau of expressive arts, sound healing, music improvisation and more to break the ice of everyday life and give us all some moments of calm and collective rejuvenation–at least enough to face the next everyday hurdle!
Rochester’s acclaimed Jazz Piano-Percussion Duo Laura Dubin and Antonio Guerrero will be creating some extraordinary “chicken soup” for the soul in a ‘comprovisation’ workshop-concert open to musicians of all ages and experience. For anyone who needs a primer for comprovisation (I did), it’s a creative process somewhere between structured composition and spontaneous improvisation; and it’s proven to be a huge benefit for the heart and brain! The hour-long workshop will culminate in a ‘World Premiere’ recording and composition that participating musicians can take home with them! For more information and to register for the full event that includes the workshop, visit: Harbor House ‘ Music is Our Light’ Fundraising Celebration of Music, Healing & Resilience – ARTISANworks & Events, or scan the QR code below!
Tickets are only $20, and that includes admission not only to the event, but to the museum and all galleries of this great space! All proceeds will be shared by ARTISANworks and Harbor House and will support our efforts to “rejuvenate” our second house to help more patients and families in a medical crisis.
