March is Women’s History Month and an opportunity to celebrate the creative contributions of the stronger sex! And in keeping with the Harbor House mission of providing a supportive, caring and safe environment for our patients and their families during a medical crisis, we have embraced improvisation as the theme for this unique venture. While most popularly associated with music (and specifically jazz), improvisation is a vital tool for creativity in many art forms, including, but not limited to theatre, dance, storytelling, poetry, film and video arts. It’s also a great way to engage and collaborate supportively with others to solve a problem, tune your brain, promote well-being, elevate your spirit, or just have fun without fear!
It’s a positive force with boundless potential, and we intend to bring that to our community on Sunday, March 23 and beyond! So, how do you fit in? If you have a passion for creativity, collaboration and an eye or ear for great causes, we could really use your help to make this special day happen! A few dollars here, a few dollars there, even loose change will make a difference. After all, this festival is about positive change!
